There are a lot of interesting movies coming out this year! When I wrote the “Top 10 list of 2019,” I took a consensus of what our readers, myself and film critics were saying.

Now, I want to tell you what movies I'm looking forward to this year! Since everyone likes different types of movies, I can't say for certain if these will all appeal to you. But I think, for the most part, they should be worth a trip to your local theater!

First up, arriving this weekend is “Dolittle,” starring Robert Downey Jr. I know it's kind of a kid's movie, but the trailer left me spellbound. It's a magical movie where “Dr. John Dolittle” can hear and speak to animals. Haven't we all wished we had this ability at some point? It looks like a fun one for the whole family!

Tied for a spot on my “Top 10 Films to Watch” are “The Last Full Measure” and “The Gentlemen,” both arriving in theaters on Jan. 24. “The Last Full Measure” is about the Vietnam War and an outstanding solider who earned the Medal of Honor. It stars Sebastian Stan, Christopher Plummer, Ed Harris, Samuel L. Jackson and Peter Fonda.

I saw “1917” earlier this month, and I don't watch war movies much, but it was very well done and very deserving of the awards it has won thus far. Judging from its trailer, I think “The Last Full Measure” will be just as good.

“The Gentlemen” features Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant, and is directed by Guy Ritchie. It's about a British drug lord who tries to sell off his empire to a dynasty of Oklahoma billionaires.

On Jan. 31, there's a movie opening that I don't think will be a huge blockbuster, but I found the trailer for it intriguing. “The Rhythm Section,” starring Blake Lively, Jude Law and Sterling K. Brown, looks like an exciting tale about an ordinary woman on a path of self-destruction after her family is tragically killed in a plane crash. Buckle up for this one!

We return to a heartwarming, family flick with “The Call of the Wild,” starring Harrison Ford on Feb. 21. How can you go wrong with Harrison Ford and a dog? I'm a fan of the original novel by Jack London, so hopefully this one won't disappoint.

Arriving on March 6 is an animated Disney flick called “Onward.” Every time I've watched the trailer for this one, I've laughed. It's about two teenage elf brothers who embark on a quest to discover if there is still magic out there. I think it will be a fun one to see with the family, especially if you have kids!

On March 27, another Disney creation will be released when a live-action update of “Mulan” hits theaters with a high kick! Even my boyfriend, who sometimes scoffs at Disney films, seemed to be interested in this one after watching the trailer. So, I think it's going to be a great quality film with lots of Disney action.

Top Marvel prospect “Black Widow” arrives May 1, and it's sure to be action-packed, starring Scarlett Johansson in the leading role. The film is about “Natasha Romanoff,” who is on a quest as a highly-trained KGB assassin agent and a member of the Avengers. This one also features “Stranger Things” “Sheriff Jim Hopper,” actor David Harbour.

On June 5, Gal Gadot returns in “Wonder Woman 1984.” Gadot attracted tons of movie goers in 2017's “Wonder Woman,” and she's sure to get a crowd of fans again with the sequel!

Any Ryan Reynolds fans out there? Well, it's not “Deadpool,” but “Free Guy” might be just as entertaining. Reynolds plays a bank teller who discovers he's actually inside a brutal, open world video game. It opens July 3, just in time to celebrate the Fourth of July with friends and a fun flick.

For something a little darker, fans of Jared Leto and vampires are going to love “Morbius” coming out July 31! It's about a biochemist (Leto) who tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease but inadvertently infects himself with a form of vampirism instead. I predict Leto scores big with this one.

And one more for good measure … “Michael Myers” and Jamie Lee Curtis return Oct. 16 in “Halloween Kills.” I'm not a big horror fan, but this one may be a worthy watch for those wanting a scary experience this Halloween.

OK, those are my “Top 10 to Watch in 2020” plus an honorable mention! See you at the movies!
