Rockwall's defense, including a leaping Dariel Brown, is on top of things during a recent home game against North Mesquite. The Jackets, who are headed to the playoffs, will wrap up the regular season at home on Friday against the Mesquite Skeeters.

  Rockwall, which has already clinched a playoff spot, will close out the regular football season at home on Friday against the Mesquite Skeeters.

  The 7-2 Jackets, who are 4-1 in district play following a 35-32 win at Tyler Lee, will recognize their seniors prior to the 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium.

  Rockwall trails defending state champion Longview by half a game in the District 11-6A race. Mesquite, which is 7-1 overall, trails the Jackets by a half a game.

  Rockwall quarterback Braedyn Locke was 13-of-24 passing for 182 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Lee. Locke connected with wide receiver Trevor Munson on a 19-yard pass for the game-winning touchdown with less than two minutes remaining.

  Locke’s other touchdown pass went to J.J. Williams.

  Jaxon Smith-Njigba led the Rockwall receivers with three catches for 51 yards. Next were Munson (2-39) and Williams (2-32). Kade Klinkovsky also caught a 36-yard pass.

Williams also ran for touchdowns of 10 and 6 yards.

  Zach Henry led the Rockwall rushers with 174 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries.

  Bryson Donnell kept Lee close with 231 yards rushing on just eight carries, scoring on runs of 49, 15, 79 and 75 yards.

  Jamarion Miller also ran for an 85-yard touchdown for Lee, which finished with 337 yards rushing.

  Mesquite was off last week after slipping past Tyler Lee 18-14 on Oct. 18. The Skeeters’ only loss this season has been to Mesquite Horn (35-14). The Skeeters still have Longview left on the schedule.

  Quarterback Dylan Hillard-McGill directs the Mesquite offense. Hillard-McGill has thrown for 929 yards and eight touchdowns and has rushed for 535 yards and seven TDs.

  LaDarius Turner lead the Skeeter rushers with 948 yards and 13 touchdowns on 119 carries.

  Ja’Darion Smith is Mesquite’s top receiver with 21 catches for 403 yards and five TDs.

  Locke is 156-of-264 passing for 2,498 yards and 31 touchdowns with just six interceptions for the Jackets.

  Smith-Njigba leads the Rockwall receivers with 58 catches for 1,077 yards and 18 touchdowns.

  Williams is next with 29 catches for 463 yards and four scores.

  Henry has now rushed for 828 yards and 10 TDs on 116 carries.

  Rockwall beat Mesquite 41-21 last year as Williams had a big game with five catches for 122 yards and two TDs.
