Rockwall Heritage Christian Academy, which is the No. 1-ranked TAPPS six-man D1 team, has added a historic addition to its 2008 regular-season schedule. The Eagles will square off against Calvert, which is the No. 1-ranked six-man public school team, on September 5th in Calvert with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

While Heritage has played against several public school ranked teams, this marks the first time the matchup has been No. 1 versus No. 1.

The contest has been in the works for a couple of weeks according to HCA head coach Robert Huckabee.

"We're really excited about the game, even though they will definitely be a handful," said Huckabee.

Calvert is fast and deep with several 4.4, 4.5 and 4.6 speedsters. RB Wendell Green (123 for 2,288 yards, 41 TDs), who runs a 4.4 forty, leads the way on offense and CB Travis Walker (107 tackles, 4.5), who is being recruited by several D1 colleges, headlines the defense.

Heritage will first take on TAPPS No. 8-ranked Tomball Rosehill tonight in its zero week opener at Williams Middle School Stadium with a 7:30 p.m. start.

Rosehill returns four offensive and four defensive starters from a 7-5 D1 bi-district finalist team. RB Chase Oliver, who is one of the biggest runners in the state at 6-2, 270 pounds, returns for Rosehill, as does QB Hunter Harris (82-of-140 for 1,304 yards and 15 TDs).

HCA enters tonight's Rosehill game after what Huckabee calls a "very close, hard fought and very hot" scrimmage at public school Trinidad last Friday.

QB Zach Read connected on 8-of-12 passes for 136 yards and three TDs to lead the Eagles in their final scrimmage.

Spencer McAfee hauled in four passes for 87 yards and two TDs, Josh Peschell pulled down 2-for-40 yards and Kevin Prater grabbed 2-for-7 yards and one TD.

Prater added a touchdown on 16-for-125 rushing and Read put up 67 yards on the ground on six carries.
