Rockwall-Heath and Rockwall dropped their District 11-6A girls basketball openers this week.
Heath fell 45-34 at home to Tyler Lee. Lee led 12-7, 20-13 and 36-24 through the first three quarters.
Alaliyah Morgan led the victors with 21 points and Alyssa Thome added 12 as the Lady Raiders improved to 12-5 for the season.
Logyn McNeil topped Heath with 12 points, Aniah Myles and Grace Anderson both added six points and Jada Armstrong and Tiffany Liddie chipped in four points.
The 11-5 Lady Hawks are scheduled to resume district play on Friday at Mesquite.
Longview hit a late shot to slip past the Rockwall Lady Jackets 33-32.
Meshia Shead and Jordan McClain led the victors with 12 points each.
Celia Straight topped Rockwall with 10 points, while Caitlyn Jordan and Mikki Witcher both added six points.
Rockwall took the junior varsity match 44-28 as Kennedy Hill led the Lady Jackets with 18 points.
The Lady Jackets beat Longview in the freshman contest, 30-28 in overtime. Laynie Insabella led Rockwall with 11 points.
The Lady Jackets will resume district play at home against Mesquite Horn on Friday with games starting at 5 and 6:30 p.m. It will be alumni night.
The Heath Hawks played No. 17 state-ranked Sulphur Springs close at the Forney tournament, losing only 52-51. Heath also beat Keller Fossil Ridge 40-29 in the tournament but lost 53-31 to Lake Highlands.
Kameron Pruitt led Heath against Lake Highlands with 12 points. Grant Watson tossed in six points and Chandler Dickinson and Will Maglisceau both chipped in five points.
The Hawks are scheduled to play at home on Friday night against North Forney.
The Jackets slipped past Highland Park 70-69, led by Sherman Brashear with 21 points and Will Bartoszek with 19. Keshon Kittrell and Kaden Shelburne both added nine points.
Jacob Hager led Highland Park and all scorers with 22 points and Worthey Wiles added 14.
Rockwall is scheduled to play next at Richardson on Friday.
