GREENVILLE — Rockwall-Heath’s Lady Hawks rolled to a 51-14 non-district basketball victory over the Greenville Lady Lions on Tuesday at the Lions Den.

The Lady Hawks jumped out to early leads of 18-2 and 29-4 as they improved their record to 6-2 on the young season, while Greenville remained winless at 0-7.

Tiffany Liddie banked in 11 points to lead Rockwall-Heath, while Shelomi Sanders tallied eight points to go with a couple of steals. Sanders is the daughter of Deion Sanders, the former Dallas Cowboy standout who is in the NFL Hall of Fame. Deion Sanders attended the game.

Azaria Mapps and Brooke Hutchings tallied five points apiece to lead Greenville.

“We executed our game plan in keeping their best player Logan McNeil in check,” said Greenville coach Erica Delley. “She only had two points.  Offensively we had our chances to score, but the ball would not fall into the basket.”

Heath coach Travis Hallam said he was pleased with how the Lady Hawks played.

“This is the best 32 minutes we’ve put together since the first of the season,” said Hallam. “We’re learning how to win. We’re excited.”

Greenville will play next on Tuesday when they travel to Garland to take on the Naaman Forest Lady Rangers.

Heath plays again at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Parish Episcopal in Dallas. — David Claybourn contributed to this story.
