The Rockwall-Heath Hawks will make their final home appearance of the 2019 football season on Friday against Mesquite Horn.

  The opening kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium.

  The Hawks are 3-5 for the season and 0-4 in District 11-6A play after falling 49-13 last week to defending state champion Longview.

Horn is 2-5 for the season and 1-2 in district play. The Jaguars were off last week after falling 44-20 to Longview.

  Longview stayed perfect in 11-6A at 7-0 and extended its winning streak to 23 with the convincing win over the Hawks. Longview led 42-0 through three quarters.

  Heath quarterback Josh Hoover was 21-of-43 passing for 219 yards, including touchdown passes of 3 yards to Grant Watson and 17 yards to Casey Curtin. Hoover’s now thrown for 2,564 yards and 23 touchdowns this season, completing 164 of 270 attempts with six interceptions. Hoover’s averaging 320.5 yards passing per game.

  Corban Cleveland led the Hawk receivers with 14 catches for 111 yards, giving Cleveland 58 catches for 772 yards for the season.

  Curtin caught three passes for 72 yards, giving him 26 catches for 451 yards.

  Taven Paxton led the Hawks’ rushers against Longview with 105 yards on 16 carries and Preston Landis ran for 36 yards on 15 carries.

  Haynes King, the son of Longview head coach John King, was 9-of-13 passing for 200 yards and four TDs for the Lobos.

  Kaden Meredith led Longview’s rushers with 161 yards and one TD on 11 carries.

  Xavier Jimmerson ran for 89 yards and a TD on nine carries.

  Horn is balanced on offense, averaging 171.4 yards passing per game and 159.6 rushing.

  Jaguar quarterback Davazea Gabriel is 68-of-140 passing for 1,128 yards and six touchdowns. He’s also rushed for 225 yards and six touchdowns on 71 carries.

  Ben Wyatt leads the Jaguar rushers with 480 yards and eight TDs on 82 carries.

  Cameron Jackson leads the receivers with 18 catches for 266 yards.

  Horn beat Heath 24-6 last year in Mesquite.
