TYLER — Rockwall-Heath and Rockwall finished first and second in the varsity boys division and Rockwall and Heath were first and second in the varsity girls of the District 11-6A cross country meet on Saturday.
Heath, led by Nathaniel Brenner and Frank Douglas, won the varsity boys title with 41 points. Rockwall was second with 52 points, followed by Tyler Lee (73), North Mesquite (94), Longview (117), Mesquite Horn (144) and Mesquite (174).
Brenner finished fourth in the time of 16:39.27 for 5,000 meters. Douglas was fifth in 16:41.63. Also placing for Heath were Dylan Hardin (ninth, 17:04.12), Warren O’Connor (10th, 17:11.17), Max Douglas (13th, 17:26.59), Jake Dalfrey (14th, 17:28.07) and Keith Boudewijn (21st, 17:53.78).
River Hill of Rockwall won the boys 5,000-meter title by only .05 of a second over Nick Knight of Tyler Lee. Hill clocked a time of 15:38.45. Knight finished in 15:38.5.
Brayden Ortiz of Rockwall was third in 16:24.7, followed by teammates Tre Hudson (eighth, 17:00.58), Daniel Montenegro (17th, 17:41.48), Wesley Shumake (23rd, 18:00.1), Luke Avery (38th, 19:03.22) and Aaron Olivarez (41st, 19:18.02).
Allyson McCutcheon finished fifth and Kate Avery was sixth to lead Rockwall to the girls team title with 49 points. Heath was a close second with 56 points followed by Tyler Lee (58), Longview (112), Mesquite (117) and North Mesquite (123).
Jamison Gladney of Rockwall was ninth at 20:21.62, followed by teammates Kendall Watkins (14th, 20:50), Adrienne Brown (18th, 21:50.51), Shelby Watkins (19th, 22:01.92) and Avery Shipman (20th, 22:04.18).
Caroline Hargrove of Heath finished second with a time of 19:47.1, behind Longview’s Isabel Beaux who ran a 19:34.27.
Jordyn Brown of Heath was fourth at 19:58.94, followed by teammates Makayla Bratcher (10th, 20:24.84), Hannah Jacobbe (16th, 21:14.37), Lizbeth Aguillon (27th, 23:02.76), Dayna Smith (28th, 23:09.84) and Paige Ray (32nd, 23:33.31).
Heath won the junior varsity boys team title with 19 points, while Rockwall was second with 54 points.
William Huntley of Heath finished first at 18:16.84.
Rockwall won the junior varsity girls title with 23 points, while Heath was second with 48.
Rockwall’s Camryn Barineu (21:11.51), Madyson Ortiz (22:39.85) and Olivia Cade (22:49.86) finished first, second and third.
