The Hawk gymnastics team had their first optional meet at Birdville High School.
The Lady Hawks placed first at the meet with a score of a 110.30.
Carolyn Sherwin, freshman, won the all-around with a 37.450, vault (9.30), beam (9.15), and floor (9.70). She also placed second on uneven bars (9.20).
Jade Bowerman, senior placed second in the all-around (38.60), vault (9.20), and floor (9.55). She also placed first on bars (9.55) and third on beam (8.50).
Ashlee Reese, sophomore, placed third in the all-around (35.50), vault (9.10), bars (9.10), and floor (8.90). Jacquelyn Doughty, freshman, placed third on Floor (8.90).
Naje’ Watkins, senior, placed second on beam (8.95).
“We had a good first level 8 meet, but we have some work to do on our optional routines before our next meet to polish and clean up our dance, landings and connections,” said RHHS coach Jennifer Bolli.
On the boys side, the Hawks won the meet with a score of 122.90.
Freshman, Cameron Callaway took third on floor exercise (7.40), second on pommel horse (7.20), third on vault (8.30). He also won the parallel bars (7.70) and high bar (5.30). He also won the All-Around with a combined score of 42.5
Junior, Skylar Patrick took third on Still Rings (6.9), 2nd on High Bar (5.2) & 3rd in the All-Around (37.8).
Junior, Austin Weber won the floor exercise with an 8.00 score.
Freshman, Brian Moore won vault with an 8.40 score.
Senior, Ryein Marks took second on the floor exercise (7.90).
Junior, Tyler Davis placed second on parallel bars (7.50) and won the still rings with an 8.40 score.
The Gym Hawks second optional meet was last night at Saginaw High School. Results from that competition were not available at press time.
