Tye Coats, Megan Lackie and Haley Lemons led a total of eight Lady Jackets named to the District 12-5A all-district softball team.

The trio picked up three of the district's superlative awards in Rockwall's final year in the district.

Coats was selected Pitcher of the Year, Lackie was named Offensive Player of the Year and Lemons was picked Newcomer of the Year.

First-team all-district honors went to senior Candace Satterwhite, who along with Lackie are the only Rockwall seniors on the squad.

Juniors Jordan Lemons, Olevia Beil and Makesa Richey captured second-team awards, as did freshman Shelby Frierson.

Rockwall finished second to Mesquite High in district play and then defeated Sachse 9-0 for the bi-district championship and Dallas Skyline 5-0 for the area title.

The ladies lost a best-of-three series to No. 2 state-ranked Garland for the second consecutive year to end their post-season run.

Realignment has placed both softball powers in District 10-5A for at least the next two years. It will be an eight-team district and also includes South Garland, Sachse, North Garland, Lakeview Centennial, Rowlett and Naaman Forest.
