Asapasians Craft Fair returns Sept. 20
The Aspasians event is held biannually in Rockwall to help fund local scholarships for RISD graduates. The event is full of shopping, fellowship, carnival-style food and lots of fun. This event will once again be held at Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 20.
Molberg to speak at Democratic party meeting
Rockwall County Democrats will welcome Judge Ken Molberg as a guest speaker on Sept. 20 at 9 a.m., at the Harry Myers Community Center, 815 E. Washington. Molberg is the Democratic nominee for the Fifth District Court of Appeals, Place 5 and is currently the presiding judge of the 95th Civil District Court. A continental breakfast will be served during the meeting.
Oil painting workshop planned for Sept. 26-28
The Rockwall Art League will present paintings from Nancy Medina, as well as an oil painting workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 26-28 at the Harry Myers Community Center, 815 E. Democratic men’s group to meet Oct. 4
The Democratic Men’s Group of Rockwall County is holding their next luncheon on Oct. 4, at Johnny Carino’s Italian Restaurant, 819 East I-30, Rockwall. This group meets for lunch at noon on the first Saturday of each month at various local restaurants to discuss local, state and national current events and politics. The group welcomes open-minded, progressive men who are concerned about the future direction of Texas and Rockwall County. 4th Annual Caregiver Conference
A free conference sponsored by Meals on Wheels and Texas AgriLife Extension Service will be held at the Rockwall County Library, 1215 E. Yellowjacket Ln., on Oct. 10. Rockwall Art League hosting workshops Oct. 27-28
The Rockwall Art League will present paintings from Cecy Turner, as well as an oil painting workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 27-28 at the Harry Myers Community Center, 815 E. Washington St., Rockwall. The workshop is limited to 14 people and the cost is $130 for two days, with a deposit of $65 due by Sept. 30. Community starts YOM program
All Lakeview Summit residents are encouraged to participate in the new Yard of the Month program. Four winners will be selected each month from May through August. Chosen properties will receive a gift card from either Covington’s or Martinez Lawn Care. Winners will also display a yard sign of recognition for one month.
Kiwanis Club holds weekly meetings

RCHF playing cards now available
The Rockwall County Historical Foundation is excited to announce the historical playing card decks have arrived. The decks are normal playing cards featuring 56 unique photos of people, places and things of Rockwall County. Every card is entertaining and educational. Think of these collector items as possible company giveaways, Christmas gifts, stocking stuffers, remembrance to out-of-town friends or relatives or conversation starters in your home or office. The cost is $10 per deck. They are available at the museum during regular hours Tuesday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The decks will also be available at the monthly Brown Bag meetings at noon in Historic Downtown Courthouse on the second Friday of each month.
