Two days that had been set aside on the Rockwall Independent School District’s calendar as “bad weather days” will be used as instructional days this school year.
That means students will attend classes on March 11, the Friday before spring break, and May 27, the Friday before the Memorial Day weekend.
The school district will request a waiver from the Texas Education Agency for the three other instructional days that were missed because of weather conditions.
During a regular meeting Monday night, the school board authorized the administration to file the waiver application.
Superintendent Jeff Bailey said he was confident the waiver would be approved.
