Freedom Fest, The Harbor’s official Independence Day celebration, will take place June 30 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. with plenty of fun for the whole family.

Souvenir flags will be on sale during the event, with all proceeds from flag sales going directly to the Boys and Girls Club of Rockwall County.

Those in attendance can see Dixie Belle – the Community Enrichment Volunteer Chihuahua, and look at the “Freedom Isn’t Free” custom car on display at The Harbor. White tiger Martial Arts will be doing live demonstrations featuring South Korea’s Yung In University at 4, 6:15 and 7:15 p.m. at the center fountain.

Live music performances from Sarabeth and Treeside are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., respectively.

The event will conclude with a 13-15 minute fireworks show set to music, beginning at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Vendors and face painters will be at the event, and kids can watch Uncle Sam navigate his way through The Harbor on stilts, or take a ride on the “Freedom Train” for only $4 per person.

Lee Gilbert, from American Legion Post 117, will make a special presentation to Rockwall County veterans during the festival and, as always, many dining options are available at The Harbor during afternoon and evening hours.
