The Fate City Council has scheduled public hearings for March 21 and March 22 involving the proposed annexation of 14 tracts of land that total almost 100 acres.

The public hearings will be held at the Fate Community Center, 104 South W. E. Crawford, beginning at 6 p.m.

Fate City Manager Vicki Mikel said the land proposed for annexation is south of Interstate 30, stretching along the service road from the west to the east extra territorial jurisdiction lines.

The land proposed for annexation totals 98.76 acres. The tracts range in size from 1.04 to 30 acres.

The resolutions setting the public hearings also directed the city staff to draft a proposed service plan for the extension of municipal services into the proposed areas of annexation.

The public hearing dates were set during a Fate City Council meeting Monday night.
