Heath Holiday in the Park is planned for 7 p.m. tonight in the Towne Center Park behind City Hall. Children may visit Santa Claus.

Choirs from Amy Parks and Dorothy Smith Pullen elementaries will sing. Christmas lighted vignettes will be set up in the park and rides are to be available on a miniature train. Inside the Community Room will be wassail, hot chocolate and cookies.

Royse City’s second annual evening Christmas parade begins at 6 p.m. on Dec. 8, as the centerpiece of afternoon and evening celebration.

After the parade, choirs will line Main Street and businesses will offer refreshments in “Home for Christmas”, culminating in a tree-lighting ceremony.

Before the parade, children’s activities begin at 4 p.m. with a guest of honor to read, Mrs. Claus. She will be at Royse City’s First United Methodist Church Family Life Center. The bicycle decorating contest begins at 4 p.m. and pony rides will be offered.

Also, the fourth annual chili cook-off judging begins at 4 p.m.

The parade line up is at 5:30, with parade at 6 p.m.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5, McLendon-Chisholm will have its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony, with Santa Claus in attendance.

The Chisholm Baptist Choir will perform and the volunteer fire department will provide refreshments.
