Heath, Rockwall take top honors on all-district baseball team

ROCKWALL — Rockwall and Rockwall-Heath baseball teams had 20 players honored – along with Heath coach Greg Harvey – on the 12-5A All-District team announced by the district coaches last week.

District 12-5A champion Rockwall-Heath and runner-up Rockwall dominated district play and also the postseason honors.

Top awards went to Rockwall’s Cole Ballew for Offensive MVP and Garrett Moon for Defensive MVP. Heath’s Tyler Ivey was named Pitcher of the Year and Ryne Randle was awarded Newcomer of the Year. Heath coach Greg Harvey was named Coach of the Year for the district.

First team all-district honors went to Heath junior pitcher Tyler Pinkston and Rockwall senior pitcher Chris Glover. Earning second team pitching honors were Rockwall senior Carter Lilly and junior Shayne Nance.

Rockwall placed seniors Brad Barnett, Gary Burton and Nick Lutzel on the first team, as well as sophomore Nick Colacecchi and senior Nick Belvedere on the second team.

Heath senior Trey Millender, senior R.J. Williams, senior Dylan Brown and junior Clayton Rasbeary were picked to the first team while senior Kelly Dorsett, junior Colten Maples and senior Dylan Lewis were named to the second team.
