All-district football team includes 17 Hawks and 10 Jackets

District 10-4A football coaches announced the All-District football teams recently after the district's last playoff team, Rockwall-Heath, lost to Sulphur Springs in the Region II final at Texas Stadium.

Rockwall-Heath and Rockwall dominated the selections with a combined 28 picks. The Hawks received 18 honors, including 10-4A MVP Kendial Lawrence, Defensive Player of the Year Austin Moss and Coach of the Year Mickey Moss.

First-team offensive selections were Lawrence and Everett Gilbert at running back and offensive linemen Austin Woods and David Abercrombie. Second-team picks were Drew Hollingshead at quarterback, Matt Bielski at wide receiver, Will Smith at H-back and Parker Pennington as an offensive lineman.

Heath players named to the first-team defense included Moss at LB, George Bamfo at ILB, Ryan Mosby at OLB, David James at DL and Darius Jones at Corner.

Second-team honors went to DE Zach Salinas and safety Charlie Wilson and special teams picks were kicker Brad Howes and returner Matt Bielski.

Rockwall players named to the first-team offense were TE Aaron Arterburn and OL John Noble. RB Josh Broach was honored as Sophomore of the Year.

Second-team selections were Jarron White at RB and Cody McCoy at OL.

Arterburn was the only first-team pick on both offense and defense with his selection at OLB. Grant Gunderson was named first-team safety.

Matt Claggett earned second-team ILB, Adam Dingwell was picked first-team punter and Will Beasley was named honorable mention WR.
