Huckabee scores 36 points at state TAPPS track meet

Jared Huckabee racked up 36 points and John Donahoe added eight to lead Heritage Christian Academy to its fifth-place team finish at the TAPPS 2A State Track and Field Championships in Waco last Friday and Saturday.

Huckabee captured gold medals in both hurdles events, with a 15.43 clocking in the 110s and a 41.91 in the 300s.

He also claimed silver medals in the long jump (21-00) and triple jump (41-02 1/4) in an outstanding 2-day performance at Baylor University's Hart-Patterson Track Complex.

The Eagles Donahoe picked up a silver medal in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.56.

Muenster Sacred Heart won all three relays en route to 126 points and the boys team championship. Rowlett Rockwall Christian finished second with 59 points and Katy Pope John XXIII tallied 51 points for third. HCA came in fifth with 44 points, all by Huckabee and Donahoe.

Marble Falls Faith ran away with the girls title with 209 points, Muenster Sacred Heart finished second with 57 and Denton Calvary third with 46.
