Rockwall Lady Jackets take on Plano West for bi-district title

Rockwall's Lady Jacket softball team will take on District 9-5A's second-place Plano West in a best-of-3 series for the Class 5A bi-district softball championship.

Game 1 was scheduled for Thursday (7:30 p.m.) at Plano West (12-2) and Game 2 tonight at Rockwall's Campbell Complex (7:30 p.m.). If necessary, a third-game tiebreaker will be played on Saturday at Wylie High School (2:00 p.m.).

Rockwall closed out its last four games of regular-season by outscoring opponents 74-6. Now, that's offense!

Freshman pitcher Laycee Holcomb picked up the 21-3 win over Naaman Forest on Tuesday after hurling a 5-hitter on the mound. Lady Jacket batters pounded 13 hits off Lady Ranger pitcher Tiffany Mack with Kat Brown tallying her fourth home run of the season and Holcomb blasting a double to lead Rockwall at the plate.

The ladies polished off playoff-bound Sachse 14-3 on Saturday with Kiely Harrison earning the win.

Rockwall is playing its best softball of the season and enters this weekend's post-season series in peak form and on a roll.
