ROCKWALL SOFTBALL: The Lady Jackets moved into the Region 2 quarterfinals Friday night with a 21-0 rout of Naaman Forest that clinched a two-game area-round sweep of the Rangers.

Three Jackets pitchers allowed only one hit, while Rockwall's Reagan Swindall had four hits and scored four runs.  Erica Speer had a pair of doubles that drove in three runs and Ella Laurence mashed a two-run home run in a nine-run third inning.

Rockwall will face either The Woodlands or Richardson Pearce next week.

BASEBALL: After losing Game 1 on the road, both Rockwall-Heath and Rockwall returned home in must-win mode for Game 2.

Both won by scores of 5-2.  In decisive Game 3s today, Heath will face College Park at 1 p.m. at Lufkin Hudson High School.  At noon, Rockwall meets The Woodlands at Tillery Field in Mesquite.

Rockwall scored all five of its Game 2 runs in the first four innings, but faced a challenge in the seventh inning when the first two Highlanders to bat against winning pitcher Trace Stephenson reached base.  Right-hander Justin Childers was brought in from first base and retired all three hitters he faced to earn a save.

Heath left-hander Kaden Krowka was staked to a 5-0 lead at home against College Park and collected the win with last-out relief help from Clay Finnegan. Dakota Britt had two hits and two RBI for the Hawks.
