Dorthe Frazier
Dorthe Charlotte Frazier, 87 of Rockwall, doed June 13, 2008.
She was born May 12, 1921, in Dallas to Anton and Maude (Blackburn) Vittrup. She was a resident of Rockwall for 30 years and a member of Eastern Star, Beta Sigma Phi and Rolling Nobels. Dorthe was a fantastic wife and mother, loving yet firm with all her children. She touched the lives of so many, offering help or advice to anyone in need, and she will be dearly missed.
Dorthe is survived by her husband, Harold Valderrama; children Clarkie Thomsen, Richard Frazier and Linda Carter; a sister, Marguerite Westfall; father- and mother-in-law Gonzalo and Mercedez Valderrama; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Thomas and Neil Vittrup.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., June 16, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel with Pastor Danny Wess officiating and eulogy by Randy Frazier. Interment followed in Heath Cemetery.

‘Tom’ Lightel
Richard Thomas “Tom” Lightel was born in Loch Haven, Pa., on Sept. 27, 1943, and died suddenly June 10, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome J. Lightel, and brother Jerome “Jerry” Lightel.
Tom is survived by his mother, Helena Lightel; sisters Joan Scheck and husband Rev. Ray Scheck of Monrovia, Md., Nancy Lightel of Washington, DC, and Helena Wilson and husband Bill of Austin; sister-in-law Sheny Lightel; nieces and nephews Cristina, Charles, Sindu and Liliana Scheck, Roxane Wilson, Jaden Wilson and partner Michael Harper, and Teresa, JJ, Erika and Kristina Lightel.
Tom graduated from Salesianum High School in Wilmington, Del., in 1962, where he distinguished himself for the best time in long distance running for seven years in the state of Delaware. Following high school, he attended the University of Delaware and graduated from the United States Naval Submarine School in New London, Conn., as a frogman and underwater repairman. After being discharged from the Navy, Tom remained in New London and attended Mitchell College where he studied literature. He then moved to Big Rapids, Mich., and received an associate degree in applied science in automotive services at the Ferris School. Tom owned and operated an automotive repair shop for several years. He left the ice and snow for sunny Texas, which he had called home since 1983.
Tom was an avid reader and was always available to show a child how to throw a ball, ride a bike, play cars and trains or just be someone to play with. He will be fondly remembered by his family, friends and community as a talented, kind and generous person. Tom’s quality of work and attention to detail, as well as his humor and quick wit will be cherished by those who knew him.
The family received friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel, June 18, from 6 to 9 p.m., with a funeral service at 7 p.m. with Rev. Raymond Scheck officiating.

Richard Darling
Richard Lee Darling, 91, of Rockwall died June 16, 2008.
He was born Dec. 10, 1916, in Loudonville, Ohio, to Lee B. and Hallina (Wolf) Darling. Mr. Darling married Dorothy Harbough on Jan. 26, 1941. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII, and was a member of the American Legion as well as the Moose Lodge in Wichita Falls. Mr. Darling was a member of Eastridge Church of Christ.
He is survived by his daughter, Dixie Barton and husband Woody of Rockwall; son Stephen Darling and wife Carol of Winter Park, Fla.; grandchildren Michael and Jennifer Darling, Mindy Farda and Trey Barton; and great-grandchildren Tara and Aidan Farda.
Mr. Darling was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife Dorothy Darling in 2006.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at Eastridge Church of Christ, 485 N. FM Hwy 549, Rockwall, with Michael Darling and Woody Barton officiating. Interment follows in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
