Blanche Owings
Blanche McClure Owings, 90, of Rockwall died the morning of March 19, 2008, at Lake Pointe Medical Center. Funeral services were at 4 p.m., March 22, in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home, Greenville, with Dr. James Ralson officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove CemetVisitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Daughter of Arch Lee and Esther Norine Lacky Kennedy, she was born April 12, 1917, in Greenville. On May 19, 1945, she was married to Woodrow McClure in Greenville; he preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1986. Mrs. Owings was a nurse’s aide. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Rickey McClure of Garland and Linnis McClure and wife Sandy of Rockwall; a daughter, Debra McClure of Greenville; half brother Ray Leggett of Amarillo; grandchildren Della Purjerson of New Mexico, Krystal McClure of Akansas and Tina Fisher of Hemstead; and two great-grandchildren, Austyn and Brady.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow McClure; her parents; a sister, Ruby Day; two brothers, Harvie Kennedy and Harmon Kennedy; and a half sister, Freddie Kennedy.
Pallbearers were Douglas Dowdy, Danny McClure, James Waldroup, Ron Waldroup, Steve Combs and Billy Lynch.

Guy Renick
Guy Lee Renick, 51, of Rockwall died March 21, 2008.
He was born July 4, 1956, in Yuma, Ariz., to Billy Joe and Tommie Lou (Gragnon) Renick. Guy was a dedicated father, husband and son-in-law who loved Jesus Christ and enjoyed attending Bible studies. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Guy loved his dogs and sports, except soccer. He was passionate about AM talk radio, especially “The Great One” Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh. Guy was a master plumber and owned and operated Renick Plumbing. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Lavon.
Guy is survived by his wife, Tina Renick; a son, Neil Renick of Rockwall; in-laws Aubrey and Dolores Beggs of DeKalb; sisters-in-law Kathi Shaffer and Melissa Peel of Wylie; nephews Sean Harris and wife Shaunda, Timothy Flippo, Cole Shaffer, Lucas Peel and Dave Shaffer; and a great-nephew, Carson Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were held at 10 a.m., March 24, at First Assembly of God Church in Lavon with Bro. Sidney Brandon officiating. Interment followed in Woodman Cemetery, DeKalb.

Glen Smith Sr.
Glen A. Smith Sr., of Rockwall died March 20, 2008.
He was born May 24, 1939, in Normal, Ill., to Myers and Marybelle (Miller) Smith. Glen was the owner of Curry Auto Leasing in Dallas for many years until his retirement in September 2005. In March 2007, he opened Smitty’s Roadhouse Bar & Grill in Rockwall, which he owned and operated until his death. He was a race car driver all of his life, racing in the 24 hours of LeMans in France and receiving the 1986 Formula Atlantic Indy Car Rookie of the Year Award. Glen was a member of the Rockwall Breakfast Rotary Club and was also a City of Rockwall Planning & Zoning Commissioner. He enjoyed living life to the fullest. Glen attended Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in Dallas.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy (Pannell) Smith; children Kimberli Geissler Smith of Fort Worth, Glen Allen Smith Jr. of Dallas and Katy Chesshir of Sachse; stepchildren Cristina Hoff of Forney and Joel Rhorer of Prairie Home, Mo.; a granddaughter, Ashlie Chesshir; a sister, Jeanne Pratt of Trophy Club; and brothers: Dale Smith of Indianapolis, Ind., and Larry Smith of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents and brother Don Smith.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., March 24, at First Baptist Church in Rockwall with Dr. Bob Reeves officiating. Interment followed in Rest Haven Memorial Park.

Lewis Lockwood
Lewis Dale Lockwood, 78, recently of Malakoff, died March 23, 2008.
He was born May 7, 1929, in Pontiac, Mich., to Roscoe and Stella (Blagg) Lockwood. Dale was an army veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He lived many years in Garland and had retired to Pittsburg, Texas. Gifted with laughter, a love of life and generosity to all, Dale had a special adoration and love for his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Sherri Sprouse and husband Danny of Malakoff and Carol Flowers of Pittsburg, Texas; a son, Mike Lockwood and wife Joni of Richardson; grandchildren Heather Roth, Amber Baker, Kristopher Flowers and Tina Jones; brother Bobby Lockwood of Corning, Ark.; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 50 years, Eudora.
The family received friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on March 25 at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel to celebrate Dale’s life. Entombment will be at a later time in Garden of Love Mausoleum in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Carlton Henslee
WOLFE CITY — Carlton Henslee, 87, of Wolfe City died March 23, 2008, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., March 25, at First United Methodist Church in Wolfe City with Dr. Ed Lee and Brother Lee Birdsong officiating. Burial followed in Mount Carmel Cemetery under the direction of R. W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City.
Son of Carl L. and Leta Jones Henslee, he was born Sept. 29, 1920, in Wolfe City. In November 1964 he married Delmer Faye Swindell. He was owner of Henslee Trucking Company. Mr. Henslee was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wolfe City.
Survivors include his wife of Wolfe City; two daughters, Barbara Woodruff of Wolfe City and Lisa Marlow of the Metroplex; stepdaughter and husband Mary and Elwood Jones of Greenville; granddaughters and husbands Brenda and Coby Mills of Plano and Glenda and Calvin Langston of Rockwall, Amy Hillen and Kelli Speight; great-grandchildren Dwight and Amanda Mills; stepgrandchildren Murray Myers, Victor Myers and Abra Kent; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Bethel Henslee of Wolfe City and Jimmie Henslee of Grand Prairie; and special friends Calvin and Dee Stanley of Wolfe City.
His parents; a sister, Veda; and son-in-law James Don Woodruff preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were Bill Morgan, David Tiffee, Richard Crockett, Gordon Payne, Ray Clark, Jackie Hamm and Alan Malone. Honorary pallbearers were Sidney Wasson, Ron Wensel and Leon Brady.
