Rockwall police investigating child death

ROCKWALL — The Rockwall Police Department is investigating the death of a 3-year-old girl, found dead Monday at a residence in the 700 block of Hail Drive.

According to a statement from the RPD, a 9-1-1 medical call was received at approximately 4:50 p.m. Monday, and upon arrival, officers were directed to a room in the house where the child had been injured. According to the press release, the injuries were suffered in an apparent accident and a preliminary investigation has indicated that the child accidentally pulled a television off a table and onto herself.

Rockwall EMS transported the child to an area hospital, but the child passed away due to the injuries suffered during the accident.

The name of the child has been withheld and the case remains under investigation by the RPD Criminal Investigation Division.
