Laubenberg to chair Public Health Committee

(Austin) - Speaker Tom Craddick (R-Midland), today, announced the appointment of Rep. Jodie Laubenberg (R-Rockwall) as chair of the House Committee on Public Health. Rep. Laubenberg has served as vice chair of the committee, and she replaces Rep. Dianne Delisi (R-Temple) who retired from the Texas House of Representatives last week.

“As an experienced member of the committee and someone with an exceptional knowledge of public health, Rep. Laubenberg will make an excellent chairwoman,” Craddick said. “I congratulate her on her appointment, and I look forward to working with her on these key issues.”

Laubenberg is the state representative for House District 89, which includes Rockwall and Collin Counties. Prior to serving in the Texas House, Laubenberg was on the Parker City Council and on the State Republican Executive Committee.

“I am very honored and appreciative of Speaker Craddick’s confidence in me,” Laubenberg said. “The Committee on Public Health is a very important one for the state; I will work diligently to serve in this capacity with responsibility and thoughtfulness.”
