HEATH - A Thursday morning housefire in Heath is still being investigated as of Thursday afternoon.

Heath Department of Public Safety got the call at 7 a.m. Thursday, and reported to a structure fire on Wimbleon Court in Buffalo Creek.

The home was vacant and known to be for sale, noted Heath DPS officer Jim Simmons. It has “heavy destruction.”

Simmons said it was too early to tell if the cause was a lighting strike.

Mutual aid was provided by Rockwall Fire Department, and the scene was cleared by about 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

McLendon-Chisholm VFD and Fate VFD were responding to another fire at the same time as the Buffalo Creek blaze.
